This version is very inconvenient for those of use who have lots of projects files and publish to a server other than the EverWeb one. Every project file now needs the website URL entered before publishing can progress. Presumably this is for the SEO PowerUp add-on? Couldn't this be an option for those who don't need the features for this plugin? I wonder about the reason for the keywords section since Google doesn't use the the "keywords" meta tag in ranking web search result and hasn't done so since 2009. On a positive note, the scrambling of the browser background control in the Page inspector seems to be fixed. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Hi Roddy, Thank you for the feedback. Quote: Every project file now needs the website URL entered before publishing can progress. I assume you are using the Publish to Folder option as this was changed only for this method of publishing. The URL was always required for all of EverWeb's features to work properly, but EverWeb didn't enforce it when publishing to a folder. Which we considered a bug. It led to specific features not working like the PayPal widget, Social media images and any other widget that needs to use a full URL in the code. It has nothing to do with the EverWeb SEO PowerUp Add-on. Quote: I wonder about the reason for the keywords section since Google doesn't use the the "keywords" meta tag in ranking web search result and hasn't done so since 2009. We actually got a lot of requests for this. However, we are using it for a few upcoming features in EverWeb 3.5 and 3.6. I can't announce anything yet, but you can probably assume why we want to have this feature. Quote: On a positive note, the scrambling of the browser background control in the Page inspector seems to be fixed. Glad to hear this is working better. If you have any other issues, please let me know. Last edit 3 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Great news about the auto SEO features in 3.4. After updating my version, will my existing websites automatically implement these new features? | |

@David: If a page is addd to a first level directory and the 'Add to navigation bar' option is selected, it will set the entire site to be republished. For your situation we are working on an improvement there too for a future release. @Mike: Almost all the features will be included automatically. So you get the Sitemap, robots.txt files, gZip compression (on our servers) and other on page optimizations. But you can also fine tune your SEO from the Inspector->Page Settings->Search Engine Optimization settings. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
