How do I use this javascript for Backstretch for browser background image?

User: Sheldon R. 3 years ago
To date, I am unable to find any explicit tutorials on how to create that backstretch browser background effect using the open source java script available here, https://www.jquery-backstretch.com and other places.

What I am trying to copy is how the background changes in the example website, http://www.yelenakurdina.com featured by EverWeb in the example gallery (https://www.everwebapp.com/resources/customer-sites/) and later I want to do something fancy as done here http://vegas.jaysalvat.com

I have tried Googling for answers, but most address doing in WP, Drupal, or some other web building kit but not how it is done using EverWeb.

I am looking for clear, step by step instructions on how to recreate what I see at aforementioned sites using EverWeb.

I hate coding. Hence why I like the drag n drop interface of EverWeb and iWeb before then. If there is coding, then please, please, be very explicit and clear on what needs to be done and how to do it. A video walkthrough like how done in Unity instructional videos is ideal.

Otherwise, I am a capable reader.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Kurt,

Thanks for reaching out!

Currently, you can set an image as the browser background in the page settings, and then set the page background to none to achieve the result as on the example you've referred to, but you indeed can't make a slideshow background. This is a good feature suggestion, though and I'll make sure to pass it to our developers.

Should you have any other questions regarding EverWeb, please don't hesitate to submit a support ticket.

Best regards,
Alex.

Thank you, admin.

If such a feature is unavailable, then how pray tell, did this Yelena do so with their EverWeb made website which you feature in your gallery or examples?
That I am so curious to know.

Thanks.

Yelena is using an old widget of mine which is no longer available.

There is a Vegas slider widget but - even although it is full width - it is for fixed with website pages

Ah, thank you.

Was the same widget applied in this thread's case, https://billing.ragesw.com/forum.php?act=thread&tid=1808 ?

Also, is there a way to obtain your defunct widget, assuming that such would work for the current version of EverWeb?

Thank you.

The original widget was created for fixed with page designs and nobody should be doing that nowadays!
I have created a new widget that will work with the responsive template but it's not something I would use myself since there is no way to supply a smaller image for mobile visitors and, because the images are inserted using java script, there is no alt text for the search engines and screen readers.

A much better option is to use a viewport height slider that inserts an additional image for mobile, doesn't have to fill the browser and has a lazy loading function.
