Two unrelated issues in version 3.3

User: Ron C. 3 years ago
I opened a site that I created in the previous version of EverWeb. The first issue I encountered happened when I double-clicked on a text box to edit the text. Suddenly, most of the objects on the page were thrown into the footer area, willy-nilly. It would have taken me an hour or two to move all the objects back to the content area and get them positioned where they were supposed to be.

Frustrated, I closed the website and turned my attention to a different site that needed an edit. In the second session, I added and edited some text. No problems. I also added an image and made it a live link to another page in the site that I wanted to open as a pop-up window. When I published, the pointer changed to a finger when hovered over the new "clickable" image, but clicking produced no action. I deleted the image and went through the steps to make it a link several times with no success. As an experiment, I tried making it open as a new page rather than a pop-up window. It worked. But I didn't want it to open as a new window.

My solution was to restore the messed-up first site using Mac OS Time Machine. Then I restored my EverWeb app to version 3.2.3 Build 2326. In that version, I was able to add the image and make it a live link with complete success. Apparently version 3.3 isn't ready for prime time. I'm going to skip it and wait for an update that fixes some of these issues.

Hi Ron,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Can you re-download EverWeb 3.3 from our downloads page. We put up another version we are in the process of releasing that fixes many issues with 3.3. It is build 2366

For the linking issues, we'd love to fix this ASAP for you.

If you can contact customer support and send us your project file and a screen recording of what you did with the link, we can investigate and fix all your issues.

You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu.
