Viewing Free Blog Search Engine Widget for EverWeb

Free Blog Search Engine Widget for EverWeb

User: Jason S. 3 years ago
Hi,

I've just released a free blog search widget for EverWeb.

This widget will let you add a search field to your blog archive page so your visitors can quickly find blog posts. You can also add a search field to any page on your site that will take your visitor to the blog search results page.

You can see demos on both the EverWebApp.com blog and my own EverWebPowerUp.com blog.

It's free for all to use. You can download it from the EverWebPowerUp.com website.

Hope you find it useful!

Thank you, this thing is a great and convenient. Both widgets work perfectly.

I am brand new to Everweb. I was looking for a search widget and found yours - thanks much for making it free!

It appears that the search only works for blog entries if they show up on the archive page and the search term is in the preview text. Is that correct?

I am trying to decide whether to use Everweb for my next blog, or use Wordpress instead. I like Everweb, and will be using it for my web pages...

FYI - tried to leave you a message on your website, but got an authorization failure of some sort...

"Could not send email: Authentication command not accepted by the server. Confirm correct server address and port."

Thanks again!

I've been using this for a while now and will be taking it off the site – is it the last update that screwed it up?? At first it worked when I used it, putting in names and it listing the posts. Now it not only fails to find related posts but does identify posts with absolutely no connection to the search word, seemingly at random.

Yes, this is correct for now, but I am looking at ways to improve this.

Thanks for letting me know, I have fixed this.

This sounds strange. Can you show me an example of this happening? For example, the URL of your blog and the search term used?

On jamescraigphotography.com: either there on the home page or on the archive page, put in a term that appears in a blog title and it seems to work. But try a term like Senator, which actually appears below before getting to the actual posting, and not only does that posting not come up in the list, the two that do do not contain the word.
Another one would be Tri-X………No Results. And you can see it below on the home page.
