Viewing Assets Limited to 99 Items

Assets Limited to 99 Items

I'm another iWeb user migrating to EverWeb. I haven't purchased yet as I'm still experimenting and learning on the trial version. I just reached a point in creating a photo gallery where I received a notice that I have reached a limit on the number of assets (99). Is that only in the trial version? Between the needed gallery pages and the rest of the site's pages, a limit of 99 assets is not going to be anywhere near sufficient.

Hi Michael,

In your EverWeb project you can have unlimited assets.

The widget you are referring to limits you to 99 images in one photo gallery. You can have as many photo galleries as you need though with more photos in them.

It's possible we can remove this limitations and increase the amount of assets per gallery because I believe this was first restricted during earlier releases but things have changed now in terms of browser efficiency. But having so many images on one page is sure to slow down loading of that page for your visitors.

I recommend splitting up the photos so they are on separate pages.

Let me know if this solution works for you.

Thank you for the rapid response. I'm impressed. :-) I can easily set up an additional gallery page. However, I'm a bit confused as to your description. I have the image limit per page set to 21, at which point it appeared a new page is being created when another image is added, and so on as each page of 21 is filled. I take it those additional pages within the gallery page aren't "true" new pages but some sort of extension of the same page. Is that correct?

That's correct. It does not create an actual 'new' and separate page. The way it works allows for a more seamless experience for your visitors.

I can look into this limit on our end and see if we can increase it, but I would still recommend not creating Photo Galleries with more than 100 images.
