Viewing Quirky cosmetic issue with responsive row PayPal widget

Quirky cosmetic issue with responsive row PayPal widget

User: Michael C. 4 years ago
Hello -
I'm using EW 3.1.7 on a Mac running Mojave.
This is my first time using a responsive format, and I chose Forest as a template.
On the pages I've setup using responsive rows with responsive widget - text, images - the page on the working on in the EW app expands the responsive row according to the size of the widget, particularly height.
However, in using the "store" template with PayPal widget, the height of the widget will overlap onto the next row below the one I am working on.
It seems to be purely cosmetic, since the page publishes without the overlap. But it is annoying to work on for editing since text/images will overlap and it's hard to select elements.
This doesn't seem to happen with the other responsive widgets except in the store with PayPal.
Any suggestions?
Thanks -
Michael

Hi Michael!

In order to dig into the issue, I would like to ask you for your EverWeb Project file. Open EverWeb's Projects Window, click the arrows next to your project and select "Send Project File to Support".
After the project file is uploaded, EverWeb will give you a link.

Send that link back to me via ticket.
Direct link to open a ticket: https://billing.ragesw.com/submitticket.php
I'll take it from there and will do my best to help you!

Thank you, Alex -
Is there a way to send the Project File another way?
I keep the file on my cloud so I can access it between my desktop and laptop - so it is not contained in the Projects window.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Michael,

You should be able to just adjust the height of each PayPal widget from the Inspector -> Metrics or by dragging the resize widgets from the PayPal widgets.

It's just that the height of the Widget is smaller than the content of the widget and it is not auto adjusting itself.

Thank you, Paul -
Yes, in order to work on the page, I do adjust the widgets so I can see what I'm doing.
However, what I then see on the page I'm working on is not what publishes - so I have to go back to the overlap to get the page to publish properly.
The issue that these elements were not auto adjusting in the app was the quirk I found distracting.
Is that normal behavior or can the auto adjust be corrected? That behavior does not happen on my other responsive rows, like text - they remain WYSIWYG.
Thanks -
Michael

PS - I did send the project file in a ticket, as requested

Hi Michael,

However, what I then see on the page I'm working on is not what publishes – so I have to go back to the overlap to get the page to publish properly.

I'm a bit confused by this. Did you go back to the pages and adjust the height of the widget in EverWeb and does it work now?

The issue that these elements were not auto adjusting in the app was the quirk I found distracting.

Yes, I believe the Contact Form widget and PayPal Widget don't auto adjust the height. I am looking into this for EverWeb 3.3. I believe there were reasons we didn't enable this feature but I have to do some more testing on it.

Sorry for the inconveniences. I hope my advice helped you and that we can resolve this issue and make it work better in Everweb 3.3.
