Viewing Backing up to Dropbox

Backing up to Dropbox

User: Susan S. 4 years ago
I'm having a ram problem with my computer so I'm using selective sync with Dropbox now as it was using a lot of ram. One of the files in Dropbox is my Everweb backups. And what I don't understand is there are more of them in the Everweb folder I made than I have websites. I don't know why that is. And it's impossible to tell which websites they are because of how Everweb saves them with a bunch of crazy numbers and letters.

So instead of opening up all those files (way more than I took a screenshot of).... Can I do this?

Make an Everweb2 file on Dropbox
Go into Everweb and change the path to back up to that new Everweb2 file.
Back up all the sites I'm using.
Delete the old Everweb Dropbox file

I just want to make sure I don't screw something up.

Thanks,

Susan

Hi Susan,

Most likely these are projects you may have had before and then deleted.

In EverWeb 3.2 we have a new feature in Preferences->Backup tab that will let you manage all you temporary preview and publish data as well as your backup files. You can easily see older websites you may not need anymore.

EverWeb 3.2 is currently in beta testing. If you want to try this version, you can download it from the EverWeb 3.2 beta forum post.

I may try that but I can just start backing up to a new folder I make in Dropbox, correct. then delete the old folder should I want too?

You can do that, you will just obviously lose all those back-ups. So if you don't need them, you can delete the older folder.
