EverWeb 3.2 Beta: Contact From Auto Respond, Responsive Scroll Positions, Faster Website Code

User: Paul-RAGESW 4 years ago
EverWeb 3.2 BETA is now available.

Beta means that it is still in testing phases so we recommend backing up your project before using this version. You can back up your project from the Projects Window. Select the little arrows next to the project and select 'Backup'.

This new version brings a lot of highly requested features to the Contact Form;
1. An customizable auto responder that gets sent to the visitor who filled out the form (Contact Forms Enhanced Add-on Required)
2. The ability to forward the visitor to a new page after filling out the contact form
3. Removing EverWeb links from the contact form submission email that gets sent to the website owner (Contact Forms Enhanced Add-on Required)
4. A few more additions and fixes

Changes to exported drop shadows and rotation
Using new CSS features available, rotation and drop shadows are now drawn with CSS instead of larger images when possible. This makes website loading faster by reducing images generated by EverWeb.

If you use rotated objects in your website design, please verify that exported websites still look the same with this new version as significant changes were made here

All objects can be made into Scroll Positions
Any object on your page can now be set as a scroll position. This means you can now link to specific objects on a page instead of using the Fixed Scroll Position which only really worked on fixed width pages. Making an object a scroll position works properly on Responsive Pages

Manage EverWeb Cache Files
EverWeb makes project backups, publishing and preview cache. Now from the Preferences you can manage this cache and easily remove unneeded cache files to clear up some on your computer. This is useful especially if you have older website projects you no longer need.

Blog Posts Get Custom Next/Previous buttons
Blog post pages now let you customize the text of the next/previous posts. If you leave these fields blank, the blog titles will be used as they are now.

Master Page Indications
You can now easily see which pages use a specific Master Page by selecting the Master Page. All pages that use this Master Page will be highlighted in your web page list.

Image Gallery Pagination
The regular Image Gallery now has Pagination styling options that let you make really nice pagination buttons and put them at the top, or bottom of your image gallery.

In addition to the above, many bug fixes are also included;
1. Publishing errors have been improved and work arounds for common publishing error messages
2. Responsive Row max content width works properly now
3. Sort by Blog Post Draft now works
4. Drop shadows on non rectangle shapes in responsive pages works properly now.
5. Using the video widget and setting it to full screen works properly when removing the full screen again on a responsive page
6. You can now move Master Pages to the regular pages if needed
7. Lots of minor bug fixes and enhancements

Download EverWeb 3.2 Beta for macOS 10.10 and later and let is know what you think.

I was eagerly waiting for the 'All objects can be made into Scroll Positions'. I'm going to use that extensively in my responsive pages. Thank you so much for making this possible!

All other changes are welcome too. Especially 'Contact Form; 1. A customisable auto responder that gets sent to the visitor who filled out the form'.
This would actually be the only option that I would like to have from the 'Contact Forms Enhanced Add-on', the rest is no interest to me at all.

I do understand that you run a commercial business, but $29,95/yearly if you're only interested in the 'customisable auto responder' option is too expensive for me.

For most of the 'CFEA-on' options you'll need to to have 'form submissions and file space for uploads' which make them more expensive obviously.
But do you actually need this also for the 'customisable auto responder' option? Does it work standalone?

And what happens I you stop to pay the yearly fee - will the 'customisable auto responder' still work?

I would be much more in favour if you sell these 'CFEA-on' options separately, possibly with and without a yearly fee, depending on file space uploads etc...

Love you product anyway.

Yearly fees are required when the costs of running the services are ongoing which is the case for the features of the CFE Add-on. But please contact customer support and reference this post and we can see if we can create the right package for you.

We posted another beta version that you can access from the above link.

It fixes a number of issues including;
- PayPal widget errors
- Contact form sending issues for some servers. Also makes sending more reliable
- Backups properly delete older backups depending on preferences settings
- Issue with opening some projects moved from other computers and showing the ’Can’t connect to network” message

Hi Paul
Some great improvements here. Well done. I was particularly pleased to be able to add 'previous' and 'next' to my blog pages instead of the full title of the blog but have noticed that when clicking these buttons after the site has been republished that Safari shows a Can't find the Server' error. Any thoughts?

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear about these issues.

Can you show me a URL that shows this issue? You can also contact customer support with this issue if you prefer.

Sure www.sussexgolfcaptains.org Go to results (that's our blog pages) when you click on the previous next links on any of those reports. Shall I post to customer support?

Hi Mark,

Can you first go to the File menu and select 'Edit Publishing Settings'

In the URL field do you see the following ( a - instead of a period before the ending org?)

https://www.sussexgolfcaptains-org

Can you confirm exactly what you have in that field?

Yes it its a hyphen - rather than a dot. I don't remember adding that that. Is that the issue?
User: Paul-RAGESW 4 years ago
Yes that's the issue since it's not a valid URL. If you change the URL it will work properly.
