Changing Page Sizes

User: Carmine M. 4 years ago
Hi All,

Fairly new to this fantastic software.

Bit of guidance...

I'm using one master page for all 9 of my website pages. In page layout tab, I have set the content width 1000 and content height 3000. Now I would like to make the content height on a few of my pages smaller but the payout tab on all the pages (apart from master page) is greyed out? Any ideas how I can edit this?

Hi Carmine,

I suspect you have created a master page and assigned it to one of your pages.

The correct thing to do here is to set the Content height to the smallest height you think you will use in the Master Page (once you set a page to use a Master Page you cannot modify the content size boxes since they come from the master page).

Then as you add objects to your regular pages, the content area will adjust to the size of the objects in there. So you can always make the content height smaller than what you need.

I think if we change the name to Minimum Content Height rather than just Content Height it would alleviate confusion like this. I will see what we can do for the next version of EverWeb.

Thanks,

Thanks Paul. That's very helpful.

So, if I wanted to have a black box at the bottom of each page (with copyright details etc text within the box), I'd be better off adding it to each page individually rather than having it on the Master Page? As each page may be different heights.

Hi Carmine,

No, you should put them on the Master Page but in the Footer section. You will see if you have 3 sections, the head, content and footer.

On the Master page you can set the Content height to the smallest size you think you will want. You could set it to 200 for example.

Then put your copyright stuff in the footer on the Master Page

When using any regular page with that master page, anything you put in the content area of a regular page will push the content in the Master Page footer down.

You'll see it within EverWeb if you try it now.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again. Very helpful.

So, I've added a footer (61) to my master page. 61 is the height of the box with info in it. When I move the box and info down to into the footer, the blue like marking out the footer keeps pushing down too. Any thoughts?
