Viewing Cannot Publish with FTP

Cannot Publish with FTP

User: Liane O. 4 years ago
Publishing hangs on publishing part way through resulting in our website being partially published and areas inaccessible to our users. Publishing hangs, fails or partially publishes so often Everweb is currently unusable for FTP. Several other FTP clients all transfer without problem.

I've already raised a support ticket for this but am hoping someone may be able to help here as the support guy responding to my ticket suggested wiping our entire company website from our server and having a go to see if this resolved the issue. Given that we can't currently publish anything I'm not prepared to risk the downtime.

My Publishing Settings:
Passive (We've toggled this setting and it makes no difference)
Max connections = 5 (We've changed this to lower/higher and no difference is made)

My Setup:
Mac OSX Mojave 10.14.6
Everweb 3.0.6 Build 2274 also tried 3.1.0 Beta and the problem still persists.

Steps taken
Toggling settings
Keeping Everweb at the forefront during publishing
Check with Hosting provider to ensure sufficient server space
Checking connections using multiple FTP clients including command line in Terminal - which all work fine

Hi Liane,

I am very sorry for these issues.

The error code you are getting indicates that the Max connections in the Preferences is too high for your server. You should open the EverWeb Preferences and under Max connections set those to 2 for now. Then republish.

What I think is happening is that your host allows a certain number of connections from one IP that is higher than what is in your EverWeb Preferences. So once that Max connection count is reached by EverWeb you web host blocks it.

If you continue to get errors, please use EverWeb 3.1 as was sent to you and send us the Error log you get so we can analyze it. There is more information in the 3.1 version than in 3.0 that will help verify the issue.

I am reviewing the suggestions by the support agent at the moment and will make sure they are updated with the status of your issue.
