Links to anchors

Hi, using a button in a Text section widget within a responsive row. Want to link it to an anchor on the page but the "Link" option within the Settings only allows to a page and doesn't give option to select a position. Going to the Links section of the Inspector does but this is overwritten by the info in the Settings - so it always defaults to top of page. Have I missed something? How can I set up links to an anchor within a button in a responsive row? Thanks Paul |

HI Paul, For the text section don't use the link options under the Hyperlink tab. To link to an anchor you would enter the URL of the page followed by a hashtag and then the anchor name. If you show the page you want to link to and where on the page the anchor is (if you have more than one) I can tell you what to enter in the link window of the Text Section's Button Link option. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

OK, 2nd try at responding because it logs me out before I can hit the Post reply button so I lose the response (why, why, why?): Removed hyperlink in the Links tab. Did as you suggested. All that happens, when I click the button, is that Nav bar/banner turns into unformatted text/alt text. The headings disappear as does everything below the Resp row. I'm publishing to file: file:///Users/paulgardner/Library/Application%20Support/EverWeb/Preview%20Files/7F249532864D4F4788A3B475E8D0489A/fixtures.html#Club-fixtures Also, when I check syntax in the "Settings" tab the whole of the above link has also disappeared and the "#Club-fixtures" has gone from the browsers' address bar Paul |

Hi Paul, Quote: Removed hyperlink in the Links tab. Did as you suggested. All that happens, when I click the button, is that Nav bar/banner turns into unformatted text/alt text. The headings disappear as does everything below the Resp row. I am not quite sure I understand what you are referring to. A screenshot would help describe the issue. You can click the Advanced button when replying here and attached screenshots of what you see so I can better understand the issue. Quote: I'm publishing to file: Any URL that starts with file:// is a local reference and wouldn't be correct to use as a link. No one can access it besides you from your own computer. You would have to publish it online and then use the link from your browser from the published website. Quote: Also, when I check syntax in the "Settings" tab the whole of the above link has also disappeared and the "#Club-fixtures" has gone from the browsers' address bar What do you meany by "check the syntax" I think this is related to what I mentioned above about the file:// links being only accessible to you and not valid URLs. Your link should be; http://www.yourdomain.com/fixtures.html#Club-fixtures Where yourdomain.com is replaced by your actual domain of course. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
