I pay you / Help required

User: Simon C. 4 years ago
Any EverWeb genius in the UK with a phone able to help ? More than happy to pay.

https://www.lumen.photography/client-area.html

Fixed width 1200
Full Page Play Slider widget for fixed layout, not responsive.
Mobile Menu Widget, fixed position.

Everything ok until viewed on an iPad.

Menu button, mobile widget and shapes in footer jump to the right and out of the browser frame.
It all works fine on an iMac and MacBook.

I'm going nuts. Must be something simple, right ?

Any help greatly appreciated and I'm more than happy to pay for your time.

Hi Simon!

There are three methods to resolve this issue:
1. You seem to be using fixed width. With it, page width and elements' locations remain the same even if the screen size changes. One way to deal with it would be to create a separate page with a redirection.
This tutorial explains how to: https://www.everwebapp.com/support/video-tutorials/creating-a-mobile-website.html
Despite that the tutorial is called "mobile page" and specifies the screen width of 480, you may treat a separate page as made for iPads, and change the mobile page width accordingly.

2. Another method would be using this tutorial: https://www.everwebapp.com/blog/Entries/2019/3/show-or-hide-webpage-elements-on-mobile-tablets-or-desktop-computers-with-everweb-29.html
As with the first one, this is recommended if you plan to adapt the page for only two or three common screen sizes.

3. If you wish to have your page adapted for every screen size, I suggest using the Responsive design.
This feature is complex, but it will do the trick and make your website suitable for every device.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply.

1. I have already created a sister site for mobile devices. Whichever size I set this to the same thing happens.....introducing the widget
causes everything to jump out of the frame. ( It's as if the widget is using one set of x and y coordinates and the objects are using another.)
2. I'm not trying to show or hide different elements on different devices, I just want everything to stay in place, making an element invisible would defeat the whole purpose.
3. I can't use responsive design because I want elements to be on top of one another, eg the mobile hamburger widget to sit on top of a circular shape.
4. I'll try calling you.

If you use the responsive template, you can insert the navigation widget shown on THIS page.

It can be positioned at the top, right and either be absolutely positioned to scroll with the content or be fixed in position to always remain in view.
Change the icon coloe and the background color to suit and increase the border radius control until it becomes round.
