robots.txt and google search

I have a few Everweb sites. I also have Sitemap Automator (by Rage). Yet I have a few sites that have not been picked up by Google and I don't know how to make that happen. On a webmasters group I'm in they said to make a robots.txt file and make sure my site map is in it. Does Everweb make me a robots.txt file? I don't see a support group for my Sitemap Automator software and it's not quite "automatic" so I don't know if I did this right. I uploaded the sitemap to my site. I went to Google webmaster tools and they gave me a file to put on my site to verify that I own it - I did that and it's verified. I put in the URL of the sitemap. So does that get me on Google? Again the FB group I'm on said NO I need to put the sitemap in a robots.txt file. If Everweb makes me one where is it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Susan |

Hi Susan! 1. For Sitemap Automator, the sitemap upload instruction is here: https://www.ragesw.com/blog/2011/10/17/sitemap-automator-verifying-with-google-webmaster-tools-submitting-a-sitemap/ 2. Submit a sitemap to Google. Here is how: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7451001 3. including sitemap in robots.txt is good practice but isn't required. EverWeb creates robots.txt automatically, and you've verified your website with Google - you have more than necessary. If you have further questions, could you please submit a support ticket? Log in to the Client area and click the blue button "Open New Ticket" on the Welcome page.
