Viewing 301 Redirects (non hosted)

301 Redirects (non hosted)

User: Aaron C. 5 years ago
I have moved to another publishing platform and to a new domain

I wish to insert 301 redirects in each of my pages to redirect directly to the relevant replacement page on my new domain.

How do I do that please?

Hi Aaron,

I'm sorry I don't quite understand your question.

You have move away from EverWeb and purchased a new domain? Can you please clarify a bit more what you have done.

Yes, I have built a new site on a new domain on a different platform.

Actually, I don't think I want to use 301 redirects. Those appear to be for web crawlers and I have now put them in the header fields of each page on the old site using php. What I want is for visitors to my old site to be forwarded directly to a different webpage

For example, people who visit my old EW site at http://www.tattooremoval.scot/index.html to be forwarded instantly to my new website at http://lasers.scot/index.html - and to do this with each page which has a new equivalent on the new site.

Is this possible to do through EW?

HI Aaron,

You can put a meta redirect on each page of your EverWeb site to the corresponding page on your new site.

You can forward the entire domain to this new site as well. That would be easier, but it would send all traffic to the front page. This would depend on who you are hosting with now and if they support this.
