Update messes up blog

User: james 5 years ago
I'm having to return to the last version after updating to 2.9. Opening blog postings brings up the latest as usual, and you can create a new one, but once it is created:
1- you cannot change the title and have the change show below
2- selecting another blog posting changes the work-on view but will not change the display view
3- any change in date does not pass on to below

Oops, now I'm desperately looking for 2.8.8 - the last one I have on hand is 2.8.4

OK, back in business with 2.8.8, everything works again. Tried on the laptop also - the update did the same thing to the blog entries. I was looking forward to the new fixit for vertical intro images going too large - but will have to wait on that.

I'll do that later today but it's very simple and obvious – I open the site and then blog postings in 2.8.8 and everything works fine. Open the same file in 2.8 into postings and whatever posting comes up (the last) – the preview is stuck. Change to any other posting and the preview remains on the first one that comes up. There are issues with titles, etc. also if making changes on the one with a preview. I have tried going back and forth between the versions a number of times.
When I get a chance I'll open ticket and send file.

Hi James,

The problem is that I can't reproduce it here so I don't know what the issue could be.

With your project file we will be able to determine exactly what the issue is very easily.

Thank you for fixing this issue. But as I'm working I'm realizing that either I misunderstand what is meant by "maximum" measurements for the cover image on the blog or something else is amiss. Setting just the vertical, in an attempt to SHRINK vertical cover images, simply crops the image rather than shrinking it. But, since the setting, at least for now, applies to ALL of the blog postings, setting both restricts all cover images to a set vertical or horizontal. Might be handy if a rigid, standard is desired for cover images. But otherwise to be shied away from.
