Unable to publish updates to my site

User: Jennifer W. 5 years ago
I recently noticed some oddities in my website. Text on the home page is wrapping where it shouldn't and is overlapping on one of the other pages. I fixed it but am unable to publish the corrections. It looks fine in preview, but not live. I ran a test by removing a few lines of text completely and the live version still looks the same so the problem appears to be in the publishing. I've consulted my web host and I'm using the right publishing info. EverWeb indicates that it has published the changes, but it doesn't. Although the site was last updated on EverWeb 2.4, I recently upgraded to 2.8.8. I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Have you tried clearing the cache on your browser, or reloading it several times while on the site?

Hi Jennifer,

It doesn't appear that your website is being published to the correct location on your server.

Perhaps you have something entered in the sub directory field of you Site Publishing Settings (File->Edit Publishing Settings)

Maybe you have the wrong directory path? This is usually the cause of these problems.

The website you have online at http://www.reelbiography.com is from EverWeb 1.9.7 and was uploaded October 8, 2016.

So it does appear to be something wrong with the publishing settings or issues with your web host.

I hope this helps you solve your problem.

By the way, I should mention that using our hosting platform for your website would never have this issue since we communicate directory with our servers to publish the website correctly every time.

If you want to switch, you can do so in just a few minutes by logging into your Client Area

Jennifer -
I moved to the EW servers a long time ago and they are rock solid. Suggest you do it if the costs pencil out for you.

Thanks, everyone. I'm going to look into switching hosts. Meanwhile, I'll see if I can find the source of the problem.
