How to make a fixed position always visible header in a responsive page?

User: Erik D. 5 years ago
I am struggling to convert my website www.hettaalbad.be from a left-aligned page lay-out to a responsive page layout.
In the left-aligned site I have a header containing a full width white square in the background, the Taalbad-logo (jpg) and the navigation menu (responsive), all of them set as "always visible" and "fixed position"
In the responsive page layout I would like to do the same. However:
- there is no possibility to use a header (in the page properties the header hight option is greyed out as soon as dynamic page width is selected)
- when using a responsive row on top of the page and embedding the logo and the menu in it, this can be set as be set as "always visible" and "fixed position". However when previewed in the browser, the row is showed in double height and the elements of the page are scrolling through the upper part of the header (see screen print).
Is it possible in dynamic page width to have a fixed position & always visible header with a menu, logo etc.? Does anyone has a working example of it?

Hi Erik,

What build are you using? Please download the latest 2.8 release from our website.

It sounds like you are using an old beta version since there is no Dynamic Width anymore, just Responsive Layout

Then the fixed position should work as it did in regular fixed width pages.

Hi, I have just downloaded the 2.8 version of everweb and I'm trying to convert my old everweb site to responsive.. I write this here because even with the 2.8 installed I still see "dynamic width" instead of "responsive layout". The only way I can make a responsive page is to create a new page and choose responsive or make a responsive master.

Other issue, I had a background autoplay slide show on my page and I can't seem to find away to leave it there, behind my responsive rows... It appears under the responsive texts instead of as a background. Any way to keep my autoplay slide show as a background in a responsive design?

Thanks!

Can you go to either the projects window or the About window and tell me what build number you have?

There were many different versions of EverWeb 2.8, just some were in beta. The newest release, build 2122 shouldn't say Dynamic Width.

You can go to the Inspector->Page Settings (first tab) and then scroll down to page layout and change it to Responsive. It will probably be set to Centered Layout right now.

You don't be able to achieve this behaviour in 2.8 but we plan on adding the ability to do this for a future release.

Hi Paul,

I was using 2.8.0 Build 2122. It was the build I received when upgrading from within Everweb app.
I have now downloaded from the website, but it is still the 2.8.0 build 2122 and it is still "dynamic width" ("dynamische breedte" in the Dutch translation). From the description on the website I understand it should be version 2.8.1 build 2124, but I did not receive that version in the download.
