Control the size of a vertical "post image" in the blog

User: james 7 years ago
There's no issue with horizontals, but vertical images selected as a "post image" expand to become far too large. They seem to want to expand to fill the horizontal space unless reduced in pixels from uses elsewhere.

Hi James,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Can you send us an image that we can try here with this issue?

It has always been this way with the blog. I was simply wondering if anyone found a way to control it. Here is a link to a 1200 pixel vertical image selected for blog (144 size setting): http://www.jamescraigphotography.com/Home-Blog/Entries/2018/10/you-want-a-walnetto-or-tyrone-gets-the-girl-in-the-end.html
At the bottom the link back to the previous posting where a 1200 pixel horizontal image is referenced.
Maybe this should be a suggestion - a size control where on the blog one selects the "post image". The size on the vertical is a tad overkill sometimes.

Hi James,

Ok, I understand the issue now. The blog will get some updates for version 2.9 and we will provide some more options for the Post Images to make this work and look a lot better.

Thanks for the extra details.

Cool. Thank you. One awkward side effect of this is that saving the blog entry as a PDF creates a little work to fix the results. Of course the golden blog upgrade would be the most recent posting able to be set in the index much larger. I manually do that now - not much bother really.
