My second question of the day. I am uploading this new webite I'm making to Inmotion hosting. I upload 2 changes (not at the same time, I did one and then the other). And then I found another error. I fixed it and tried to upload and I got a dropdown from Everweb that said: Too many connections (8) from this IP We got a 421 - timeout. What is weird is that this only happens with Everweb (and it happens on my own personal host too which is GoDaddy, so it's not just an Inmotion thing). But here is the weird part, when I go into the c-panel and to FTP Connections none are listed. And if I try and upload the files with Fetch it works fine. Why does this happen with Everweb? Thanks, Susan |

Hi Susan, This happens because the maximum connections in the Preferences are set to high. Open the EverWeb Preferences and go to Publishing and then set the Maximum connections to 3 Your web host allows a maximum of 8 connections to your server. The connections can take up to 15 minutes to disconnect. The reason you don't see any connections in cPanel is because by the time you get to that page, the connections have been disconnected. It is possible that if you set your Maximum connections to 3, if you publish 3 times within 15 minutes you may get this error. I am not sure because I don't know how your server is configured. But this is the only reason that you will see this error if your Maximum Connections are less than 8. Hope this helps. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
