Viewing Advanced Gradient Fill issue

Advanced Gradient Fill issue

User: Guest 12 years ago
Hello everybody!

I just downloaded the latest Beta and started to rebuild a site I made in iWeb. This issue is one of the things I encountered in Easyweb.
I am making an advanced gradient fill in a square shape and the first thing I saw was that the gradient fill isn't nicely gradient. It goes from one color to the other in a number of 'color steps'. Very ugly.
When I use the circle gradient in iWeb, I can place the inner color where I want with my mouse and a line appears to adjust the gradient. I don't see that in Easyweb.
The third thing is that the sliders to adjust the place of both colors sometimes don't react or suddenly disappear.

I hope you can update this issue.

Thanks!

Jan

I'm also getting this problem, but only when the gradient fill is viewed in Windows Browsers. I test at browsershots.org. Anyone know a way around this, aside from not using gradient fill?

These gradients are created using an image (two actually) so the result will depend on the browser and the equipment used to view them.

Creating gradients with CSS is preferable since the result will render better in the browser and the page will download faster. Image backgrounds, of course, should never be used on the mobile version of the website!

CSS gradients can be as complex as you want by using several colors and applying different percentages to each. This will create a far better "advanced" gradient than an image ever will.

Using CSS may seem complicated but there are plenty of online generators and it's just a question of knowing where to paste the code in EverWeb. This widget will create simple gradients for buttons and background shapes.

It's well worth the extra effort to use CSS to create complex gradients - both linear and radial - and the result will render far better in all modern browsers.
