a (vertikal accordeon style) hyperlink scroll list - generated by the pages of my site

poah, hard to explain

i want an element on my home page in which i can show hyperlinks which lead to some of my pages.
it should be like a list, so the links should be vertikaly arranged. but you cant see all the list entrys, just 4-5, and on the one in the middle of the element, you can actually click on, so it should be somehow highlighted. although there are only five links shown, the element should contain all the page hyperlinks i feed it with. you can simply scroll through the accordeon list which touch or scrollwheel. if you reach the end the list just begins again.

which widget is that please 8)

basically like the alarmclock setting of an iphone... but just with 5 lines and a clickable center.

The EverWeb Widgets Home Page has a scrolling link sidebar.

Continuous scrolling doesn't appear to work too well with this kind of thing. I spent a while searching for a method but ended up having to create a jQuery plugin which uses the scroll top function. The switch from bottom to top happens fast so I added a buffer at the bottom. It actually works OK on iPad.

Here's the DEMO.

There is an old widget for horizontal and vertical scrolling text but this kind of thing is kind of useless now that over 60% of visitors are using touch devices.

Scroll is paused on hover but, on a touch device, you need to tap to stop it. Then there's no way to get it scrolling again without reloading the page.
