Viewing Header Code & Footer code on publishing page

Header Code & Footer code on publishing page

User: nigellionheart 10 years ago
Hi,
I am a noob with website building, so please forgive me if this a silly question. posting.php?mode=post...f=6# but do I need to put anything in either of the boxes for the header code and footer code on the publishing page, before I publish my website? is it for google analytics, statcounter etc? or do I not need to put anything in them yet?

Many thanks,

You don't need to put anything in these boxes if you don't want to.

The site wide head code box is used for any code that you want to be in the head of the HTML doc for every page of your site. Some examples would be...

Favicon -

A stylesheet -

A hosted font -

jQuery -

Similarly, the footer code box would be used for java script that is required on every page of the site such as Google Analytics code and mobile device URL bar rollback code.

Thanks Roddy, I'll look into that a little further down the line. At the moment I'm just learning the basics, I'm struggling with publishing at the moment...

Can you elaborate a bit more on where you are struggling so we can help you with it?
