Viewing Shapes

Shapes

Just curious are shapes editable in Everweb? Or will I have to do this in Photoshop? I am not talking about resizing them but changing the way a shape looks for example. Look at this website at the top footer and you will understand what I am asking about the shapes.

See how the blue and orange bar looks? This cannot be done in Everweb I'm guessing?

Hi Robert,

Thank you for the example provided.

I am afraid changing shapes in such a way is not currently possible in EverWeb.
You need to edit the shape manually before importing it to EverWeb or selecting it as Image Fill in Shape Options.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

Please feel free to check this video tutorial on shapes to get a better understanding of the options and features available: https://www.everwebapp.com/support/video-tutorials/all-about-shapes-and-images.html

Best Regards,
Kate

Gotcha and I understand. I am having a big problem that is throwing me off. It doesn't make a difference if I use my own image or if I add a shape for example. Whenever I click on Command and move the shape or image into the header for some reason I cannot move it past the left margin. I can move it past the left margin guides but as soon as I unclick the mouse then the image or shape move back to previous spot. I am creating my own header bar but I should be able to center it the way I created it in Photoshop on the webpage not just the left and right margins because my bar actually goes beyond both left and right margins. I have it setup to Centered Layout. I can move any image or shape past the right margin guide so why is it stopping me from moving it past the left margin? This doesn't make sense because I am creating my website first in Photoshop, setting up the same sizes that is setup in Everweb. Example the Content is set to 1000 in Everweb. In Photoshop I have it setup using Guides, 1000 pixels apart.

EDIT: just rechecked so no I cannot move anything past the left nor right margins. This should not be like this because some of us use Photoshop to create a website and our bars goes beyond these margins..

You can move any item out of the content area by selecting it and then checking the "Allow free dragging" box in the Metrics inspector.

To make a shape fill the browser (rather then the content) width, select it and check the "Full Width" box in the Metrics inspector.

Wow how did I miss that....Can I suggest one thing. I know I am not the only person who designs their stuff in Photoshop and brings is over. I really like Everweb but there needs to be a Ruler setup in pixels and movable guides. This way we can setup things exactly how we have them in Photoshop...

I appreciate the help because my eyes are playing tricks on me on seeing certain things...

The website that you linked too in your original post is actually responsive and uses more than one image and quite a bit of CSS to create the header.

I created a demo for an EverWeb user not so long ago which has a similar design using pure CSS. The only image involved is the logo.

This is a much more modern approach to web design and is much more flexible and efficient with regard to page download speed than using large graphic files created in a image manipulation app like PS.
