User: Christoph R. 5 years ago
hi.

i found some widgets that exactly fullfill my needs on http://everwebcodebox.com

unfortunatly there is a warning on site load that says i should only use https secure widgets...which those widgets are not..

so what does it mean please. what happens if i use outdated widgets not made for https ???

thanks,

best christoph

The warning means that, if you publish your site to a secure server, the URLs to the pages will begin with https:// instead of http://.

Some of the links in these widgets to assets such as Google fonts and Font Awesome are http: rather than https:

If your site does not have an SSL certificate then you can use any of these widgets.

If your site does have an SSL certificate, you can still use most of them but those with an http: link to any assets will show up a warning if you happen to look at the source code.

Thank you Roddy. I want to use the Buttons widget but wasn't sure about it working correctly or not.

Alll these widgets work fine except for the fact that they will create an http: rather than https: link if you use a Google hosted font.

This will only effect those who are using SSL and, even then, it's not exactly a disaster!
