Viewing EasyWeb Purchase and Pricing

EasyWeb Purchase and Pricing

User: Roddy 10 years ago
There seems to be a certain amount of confusion and misinformation going around about how EasyWeb will be sold.

From what I've read in this forum, I get the impression that EasyWeb will be included with the purchase of hosting and that updates will be included.

Also that EasyWeb will be available as a stand alone app but version updates will require payment.

I also sense conflicting info when I read that publishing to a local folder will only be possible when signed into an EW account!

Is it possible to clarify all this or is it too early in the day?

There is the EasyWeb + hosting that will cost $99/year and come with free updates as long as the hosting account is active.

A price for publishing to third party web hosts will be announced at a later date but will be in the same price range. But if you do have an EasyWeb account as stated above, you always have the publish to folder option.

What you can bank on is either way EasyWeb won't be free.

Forgive me here but I'm trying to understand your policy regarding the issue of Easyweb as a 'Stand Alone' product. You don't address whether or not not the ability to purchase it outright will be an option but instead refer to 'publishing to a third party web host' which I take to mean 'no' and it will always be necessary to have an account with Rage if you wish to publish to a different server. Is that correct? or, are you saying that the purchase of Easyweb will be about $99.00 (give or take).

As mentioned in a previous post by admin. I truly hope you will offer such satisfying service that it will be a non issue but 'stand alone' versus 'host supported' are two completely different forms of service.

I would still like to know if the ability to purchase Easyweb outright will be an option at some point in the future. Any clarity is appreciated.

The ability to publish to a third party web host will not be an ongoing fee as apposed to the version that provides web hosting. You won't be locked out of a version you purchased because you don't have an account with us. But you wouldn't be entitled to major upgrades. Basically the exact same thing you are used to with purchase most software now.

What will most likely happen is you pay X dollars for EasyWeb + a time period of upgrades and support. Once you stop paying and your account expires you can still publish to a folder with the current version you have, but you won't get upgrades or support.

So roughly $99 for EasyWeb software and hosting with up to 2GB space, right. How much for more space? I can't find the answer on the Rage website. I'll probably need at least 10GB for videos, etc.

What is the situation for someone who already has a hosting account with RageSW? Is EasyWeb an entirely separate hosting service? I had thought I could enter my current login details on the Site Publishing Settings page in EasyWeb, but it doesn't recognise my email/password combination.

Yes you can do this.

Email support with your domain so I can see why it's not working for you.

When you purchase EasyWeb for $99 for a year with hosting, is free live phone support offered for either or both the hosting and for other EasyWeb issues?

I pay my web host about $75.00 a year but they host 2 other sites ( total 3) for me included in that price...Would I have to pay $100.00 for each site?
