Using color picker window with saved colors

User: Charles H. 8 years ago
Since the recent update with High Sierra, I have encountered an issue with colors I have saved in the color window, and prior to the update, I could select one of these colors, applying it to what ever feature, I was building. I've noticed the opacity slider is absent as well. ( I've attached a screenshot of the what my color picker window looks like with my saved color pallets for projects I'm working on presently )

I read on the forums of another app I have, that High Sierra presented some programs with color picker issues and to try a restart of app and or re-boot of computer. I've done both multiple times without success.

For now I have to take the "eyedropper" and hover over my saved color to then have it change the website feature I'm working with, ( button, line, window, etc. ). Not ideal, but it does work.

Thanks in advance for any assistance ins restoring the ability to select saved colors.

I should have pointed out in my initial post, that this issues seems to be isolated to just EverWeb. I had a similar issue with mail designer 365 and since a recent update to High Sierra, from 10.13.0 to 10.13.1, the issue has not re-occured in that app. Prior to posting, I went through all my design apps and Apple iWork apps and the color window functions as one might expect. It even has the opacity slider in tact. That all changes when you try to use it in EverWeb.

Have thought of a clean install of the app to see if that fixes anything, but am deep into a to do list for a project. Maybe once I get more of the deliverables finished, I'll try this approach.

Thanks Paul.

I did find another feature of the color window I wasn't aware of. It allows one to create a pallet for your colors. Not in the boxes below the colors, but rather in the tab above for color pallets. I always thought these were fixed for specific programs and never paid much attention to the plus and minus button. Well it turns out, you can create any number of specific collections in here and pull these down when you need to. It works across all the apps that utilize the color window. I have attached a screenshot showing the color pallet and the created collection for one of my projects.

I created a pallet for the projects I have on my desk now and each one works throughout my apps including EverWeb. It's much easier than taking the eyedropper to apply color when working in EverWeb. While it smoothed out out my work flow, I still feel there is something a miss as the opacity slider is absent from the color picker in EverWeb, but not in my other apps.
