I keep looking at other apps. They all stink.

With the demise of Iweb Every once in a while I take another look at applications like 'Sandvox' ... 'Rapidweaver'. When ever I revisit one of those apps I'm suprised at how much I dislike them ( ok, dislike them so much I don't want to use them ) and feel like I must be missing something. The female voice on the tutorial for 'Sandvox' is so condisending I want to throw up and can't listen to it. The only application that I could consider is Dreamweaver which has all the bells and whistles but unless you use it constantly there's just too much stuff to remember for me.

That leads me back to Easyweb. There's nothing else on the horizon which means you guys ar Rage have a big responsibility in getting Easyweb up to speed. I hope you're up to the task of improving it to at least Iwebs features in a reasonable amount of time. I'm a bit concerned it will happen as I would think that Realmac Software ... Karelia have deeper pockets and more resources.

Anything admin can respond with to make me more comfortable in continuing to put my faith in the future of Easyweb?

Other applications, like Sandvox and RapidWeaver, are not really that similar to iWeb, so I wouldn't look at them as iWeb replacements. They could pass as iWeb alternatives as they would be suitable alternatives to using iWeb, but they don't provide the user with the same type of easy way to build a website. This is what we noticed a while ago when Apple ceased further development with iWeb. There was definitely a giant hole in the market, for a product that targeted current and ex-iWeb users specifically.

I won't comment on who has deeper pockets between the three companies. I can assure you that our aim is to make EasyWeb as similar to iWeb as we possibly can, while adding some essential features that iWeb did lack.

As it stands now, EasyWeb is extremely similar to iWeb. Over time, we will continue to develop EasyWeb and it will far surpass what iWeb was (if it hasn't already).

Glad to see the continued excitement for EasyWeb, and as always, we appreciate everyone's feedback.

@dan y: As one of the developers of EasyWeb I can tell you that creating an app like iWeb is extremely difficult. It's not just adding all the features, which is very difficult, but that every user has different needs and feels that their features are essential and need to be added. It is very hard for us to create a one size fits all feature for every possible scenario.

If you were to hire someone to build a website for you that included all the scripts, e-commerce etc... you would be paying in the thousands, easily. Although you can certainly add many features to EasyWeb as is, I don't think there is a big harm in integrating custom solutions to fit your needs when they arise. Fortunately EasyWeb was built with that in mind.

We are adding features to EasyWeb as fast as we can. I already believe, besides the lack of blogging features, that EasyWeb is more powerful than iWeb. It has drop down menu support, mouse transitions, retina support, faster loading websites, a much more advanced HTML widget, social media integration and more.

There is a reason why there aren't that many web builders like iWeb. The reason is how difficult it is to create.
