Viewing redirect widget problem in 2,1

redirect widget problem in 2,1

User: spyboynola 7 years ago
I just ran across the redirect widget problem with the latest version of EW and have downloaded 2.0, My question is for future reference is how could I have found this out earlier? is there a place to view these kind of things before rebuilding my site. originally it was three sites. Also how can I find out when it is fixed? I know it is a third party widget but would like to return to 2.1 as soon as possible . Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Since it's a third-party widget we cannot guarantee its work. You will have to test it yourself and see with your own eyes whether it's working or not. There is no way to find our it other than test it yourself. I'd recommend contacting EverWeb Codebox's support, maybe they will be able to tell you more: http://everwebcodebox.com/info/everweb-info.html

EverWeb now inserts a link UUID evrywhere in the HTML doc where ts finds a file path. I have been informed that this is to overcome the problem of users setting up links and then changing page names.

The problem only came to my attention when a user reported that the timed overlay widget was broken in V2.1.0. I noticed that the link UUID was insrted into the href attribute which broke the script.

I had no idea that the redirect widget was effected until you pointed it out and never even considered it as a suspect since it has a file path rather than an href attribute. Now I know better!

Not in this case. I didn't see any mention of it in the list of changes for V2.1.0 beta but then again I'm good at missing the obvious!

As far as I know it won't be fixed. I have replied to your other post about this offering a solution.

Please remember in the future to post questions likes these in the appropriate forum. This forum is for Announcements.

Regarding Roddy's widget it was an internal change required for other fixes. Sometimes changes have unintended effects. We are working on other solutions.

I apologize for the inconvenience.
