EverWeb 2.0 Update: What's new and Beta Testers Wanted!

Is it too late to beta test V2.0? I'm now in a position to make a number of updates to my site www.synergyschoolradio.com (it badly needs it!) and I may as well use V2.0. I'm more than happy to provide feedback too!

Have you got a release date for version 2.0 yet?

No it is not yet released. We will post here and on our website when it is released.

Did you find a solution for all the uploading problems to ftp servers?
- Changed one word on one page and hit "upload changes" -> then it uploads half the website and takes a huge amount of time...

That would be awesome!

Remember that it does a one way sync so that it makes sure all the files online are the latest. It will skip files that do not need to be updated.

That being said FTP publishing will be a big focus in upcoming releases.

"Remember that it does a one way sync so that it makes sure all the files online are the latest. It will skip files that do not need to be updated."

I know, but it appears that serveral ftp servers (including mine) save wrong dates to the uploaded files.
Wouldn't it be possible, to program a workaround? Like a checkbox, to uncheck the option, that the program checks the online files. This way, the program could just update, the files actually updated in the program...

There IS a version compatible with OS X 10.6.8? You have my eternal gratitude. Brilliant.

I believe future feature in the v.2 will add animation / pic slide to the site - this is quite common nowadays

Any updates? How much longer?!

Like a good wine, not before it's time.
Paul wouldn't want to hand off something he has worked so hard on only to have everybody irritated with bugs or unfinished parts.
The purpose of beta testing is to pound on the software so all those illusive naggy little problems are caught and fixed. When you think of the millions of Macs out there with all sorts of different combinations of software (some running in the background) you have to test against as many as possible just in case something affects EverWeb, It can take a while, especially if a tester reports a problem. Then Paul and his gang have to try and recreate it and fix it. Bug swattering can be very tedious,
I'm sure they want to get it out the door as much as you do.

Setting a date is never smart. Something comes and there's a delay too many people get all Donald Trump, nasty and crazy, "You promised". It's always better to be patient. It'll be worth it.

Hi Courtney,

As they say in French "Quand le vin est tiré, il faut le boire."

Have a good day.

Hey Courtney - I certainly agree (and one of the last person I'd ever want to align myself with is Donald Trump.) I've been waiting a long time, but it's also been promised to be "right around the corner" for a long time. I respect the work and frustrations Paul and his crew have had, but sometimes they've been a little unclear or deceptive about when this blog feature will finally arrive. When I originally bought the program, I was under the impression that the blog feature was soon - "soon" to me (and other users) implies a few months, and "soon" to them is over three years. A few months ago they said it would be released "in a few weeks." I'll keep waiting and will re-purchase the program when it's released (because I have no choice if I want to use Everweb as my design software) and will continue to recommend and support the company. Despite its flaws, it's the best software for someone who doesn't want to learn code.

You are absolutely correct. The blog feature has been over-promised for way too long. I don't know the reason for the non-delivery but Rage certainly took a hit to its credibility. Regardless, the feature is here and it's working its way through the process necessary before release. I can't comment on a time frame, one because I don't know and second, I'm not aware of the overall progress in bug collection and remediation.

I've devoted so much effort to creating a work around for blogging on several websites that I may not even use the blog feature when it arrives. Regardless, I think everyone will love it and it's obvious the amount of throught and work that went into it. If Rage keeps building on the foundation, it'll be a home run. Hang in - this time its coming.
