question sending a bulk email

Howdy from Austin, I want to send out a single email to about 500 recipients. I have never sent an email with so many recipients before. (This is not marketing/junk/spam but people in my contact list.) I want to do this email in a way that doesn't create any problems—getting it marked as span, exceeding server limits, getting bounced, etc. I'm running Mac Mail on my machine w/Everweb hosting. My plan is to put all of the email addresses in the Bcc field and then address the email to myself. Is that an OK way to do it? Or is 500 too many? Or-? Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you! —Daniel |

Most people seem to use a service like MailChimp. The advantages are ease of setup and being able to customise the Sign Up Form. The other option is to use an application which allows you to create the database on your computer and to create and send the emails. I use SerialMailer for this. When sending out bulk emails via mail services like Gmail, there is a daily limit to the number of emails so it is better to use a web mail address on your server. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! There is an EverWeb Instructional Video about using Direct Mail.
