Feedback EverWeb 1.9.6

User: Sven V. 10 years ago
A few months ago, I mentioned in a thread here that EverWeb feels like outdated software. The forum administrator reacted semi-aggressive and as I didn't have the examples ready, I have now collected some. Since I have been starting to use Sparkle, which understands much better the look and feel that modern Mac users appreciate (observe something simple but very useful like their grid!!). Well, at least, that I do. So while switching my website slowly completely over to Sparkle, I give you some of the small annoyances, which irritate my workflow. With all respect to the makers, I always felt like I was using beta software, which never has come out of that stage. Also that you have to pay if you want to continue receiving updates after a year for software that never works perfectly, is an insult to its customers. As a developer, you don't have to jump on the subscription bandwagon, as so many seem to do these days. When you buy an app like this, you don't want to have *another* subscription.

- Alt-arrow within text field doesn’t move cursor to next word. Arrow-up/down works, jumps to beginning/end of paragraph.
- Paste and match style is buggy. Most of the time it doesn’t work. Doesn’t work when pasted at beginning of text. Occasionally leaves out words that are in-between quote marks when pasting in place. (“*”) Adds hidden text marks.
- Holding shift when moving items doesn’t have the effect it is suppose to have (move only in one direction)
- When publishing, one out of three times, items are on a different position than they should be. Only after moving one item one pixel up, then back one pixel again, it is correct again.
- Sometimes when working in a text field, the cursor is a few lines up in the text field, but any change has an affect a few lines down. The visual cursor is at a complete different position then the active cursor really is.
- Sometimes items need to be further away from each other within EverWeb in order for them not to overlap on the website in the browser.
- It's very hard to align items precisely.

And after all these years, still no blog feature... Though I can understand if this app is a side project or a hobby. I am not aware of the time the developer can spend on this.

HI Sven,

I apologize if my response to your previous post came off as aggressive, that wasn't my attention. I just wanted to know how you thought you we can improve EverWeb.

EverWeb is not a subscription though. We offer more updates and features than any other product and better customer support (24/7 phone an email support, discussion forum, hundreds of free video tutorials and more)

I will make sure we use your feedback to improve EverWeb and thank you for talking the time to provide it.
