How much can I fit into the Hosting Pro account. I see it's 10 gb but I'm not sure what that translates to in real life.

Any pro/con's about EverWeb hosting?

Thanks,

Susan

Hi Susan,

It completely depends. If you have a lot of videos it will fill up quickly but it is impossible to determine beforehand.

Most websites are only a couple of MB, not GB.

Also you can start at 2GB and move up whenever you are ready.

There are a number of features in EverWeb which can only be used with EverWeb hosting - much in the same way as it was with iWeb and MobileMe.

Publishing to another host can be problematic when support is needed since their tech support people are not familiar with the application which is generating and uploading the files.

I always use EW with GoDaddy. I have 5 or 6 sites with them. Since all of those sites are built on EW and some of them are coming due for renewal I was trying to decide if there was any benefit to my moving to EW. I've heard tons of bad "stuff" about GoDaddy but I guess I've been lucky, my sites are always up and they load fast and I've not really had many problems with them in the 10 years I've worked with them. Sounds like a big win for GoDaddy, but I also really like to support the smaller guy and Paul has been very helpful to me on a number of occasions.

But being a single mom with no other income other than my own tiny business I need to make sure it's cost effective for me to move those sites to EW. I have a couple more sites that will be coming on board this month too. So starting at 2 GB wouldn't do it, unless I just moved one over to test it, but eventually I'll need more than that.

If you already have hosting then perhaps there is no need to change until there comes a time when you need to use one or more of the EverWeb hosting only features.
