Viewing EasyWeb Beta 11

EasyWeb Beta 11

User: Paul-RAGESW 10 years ago
We have just posted a new beta of EasyWeb. This version contains significant changes including;

1) An all new navigation menu. To use it, remove your current navigation menu and drag the navigation widget to your website. The new navigation menu allows you alignment options and will show a better preview of how it functions within EasyWeb. See this video tutorial for how to make drop down menus;

http://ragesoftware.net/adding-director ... -site.html

2) Retina support: All built in images created in EasyWeb are exported as retina. You can add your own retina images by naming a retina image image@2x.extension (replace extension with .png or .jpg) and dragging them onto your website. A retina image should have the same name as the non-retina image with @2x appended before the file name extension.

Note: Retina images are very important for almost all mobile devices and new high resolution computers such as Macbook Pros. We used the most efficient method for retina images to make sure your websites are as fast as possible for both retina and non-retina screens.

3) Image optimizations: We have done a lot of work on exporting images so that they load as fast as possible for your visitors. We put in specific optimizations under certain conditions to make sure your webpages are highly optimized.

I just noticed that the 'Image GaIIery' widget no Ionger seems to work. It dispIays the photo but no sIideshow. I have an oIder foIder of the website on my desktop that works but a new downIoad from the current beta seems to be a no show. I tried deIeting the sIideshow and re-adding the widget and photos into the new beta but onIy photos show up when you cIick on one of them. No sIideshow.

Is that correct

I dont see the hyperlink/not saving fix. Are you guys planning on doing that in an upcoming beta release.? I still have to recheck the box "open in new window" on all text hyperlinks every time I open Easyweb. While I can go through my site and re-do it pretty easy, I would imagine that this would be a problem for those with complex sites with many hyperlinks. Thanks

@Dan y: Sorry but I do not understand exactly what you are trying to say. I just tested the image gallery and it works properly for me.

What does a "no show" mean?

Can you please post a screenshot of what you saw before and what you see now so I can better understand the issue?

@jdm4given: I cannot reproduce this issue but I will continue doing some more testing.

Please create new threads the issues you find.

The interesting thing is that I just went out for lunch, saw your post upon returning and decided to try it again with no changes. Now, when I publish it to a desktop folder it workes. I tried it 4 times earlier with no joy. I still have this mornings upload online. If you go to the photo area and click on a photo it opens up to only the larger photo (direct image), no slide show. In the past it opened up to a slide show format.

Attachment are 2 photos. the top one is the way it opened when you selected a photo in the past. The bottom one is the way it opened this morning (new beta) with 4 upload attempts. As you can see, it only opens a larger image as if the thumbnail is only a link to the larger photo.

click on one of the photos in the 'Image Gallery' area. Here's the link http://www.danapointlife.net

Of course,,,,, like I said,,,,, I tried it just now without changing anything and it worked when I published it to a desktop folder so I'm stumped. I'll upload the new beta version later today after you've had a chance to see it.

I really like the improvements I've run across so far. I was wondering if any work I do on this version will work with the final version? I don't want to spend too much time with the program if I'd have to start from scratch in the final.

Also, one thing I always hated about iWeb was that you couldn't easily move your site between computers as a document - everything was self-contained within the copy of iWeb and basically unable to share without cracking open the package contents.. Will this be something EasyWeb corrects eventually?

It could be a conflict with the jquery.js file you are including with Wow Slider. If you have a photogallery jquery is already included on that web page.

For pages with a slide show, you don't need to include jquery.

I thought the addition of the sIider might have been the probIem.

The upIoad hangs up quite a bit and I need to 'stop' and start over with the upIoad. It may take 4 or 5 times before it finishes. It does finish the upIoad but it appears in order for it to finish I can't touch the computer. If I so much as cIose a window whiIe it's upIoading it seems to crash the upIoad making me start over.

I'II try it a few more times to see if it's consistent. A thought I had was with the upIoad not finishing so few fiIes are missing.

I'II so some research in the form of a few upIoads to try to isoIate the issue incIuding removing the sIider. If it is the sIider,,,,, even more reason for programming to incIude the abiIity to add a sIider in the appIication.

When wiII you be adding the abiIity to onIy upIoad 'changes' instead of the entire site. UpIoading the entire site when you change onIy a coupIe of things is very time consuming?
