It seems those who are designing client sites are being asked for features available in Wordpress. This is an example of one of them. An EverWeb user emailed me today about a resize header. Here's the instructions - with demo - so that potential users will know what's involved in setting up something like this. It's certainly not for the impatient although it does only have to be set up once on a master page! As you can see, there are quite a few controls and options but, no doubt, these will not be enough for some so I am open to suggestions before releasing this widget. From feedback so far I have added controls for adjusting the navigation link spacing - both onload and resize - and a control for navigation resize position right. I also added an option for a color gradient background with opacity and color angle control. | That is really cool. Is there a way to have it change background color when it changes size? Or flip the gradient to the opposite side or opposite direction? | |

I suppose just about anything like that can be done with some java script. Right now, I am working on a version which incorporates the EverWeb default navigation which presents its own challenges! I am taking the opportunity to use the widget to add more styling options than default one does. Those that I outlined HERE such as main block vertical spacers, dropdown padding and rounded corners etc. The background, of course, will need to be transparent otherwise it will cover the icon and heading in the resized position. Here's a demo of the resize header with the color (and its opacity) changing on scroll. The page also contains examples of the fade text on scroll, expand on hover, smooth scroll down buttons, theme break, vertical spacer and full width footer with optional site search form and smooth scroll to the top.
