When you start to even think about your examples it's no longer Easyweb. Each one of the examples on your pages have many steps and the placing of pieces of code sometimes even on a different server. At that point you might as well take some time and learn Dreamweaver. That map was all cut-n-paste. The most difficult part was the fact that there are so many options it can make you crazy.

What if Easyweb opened up to allow for 3d party add on's. A bit like RapidWeaver. OK, I know, RapidWeaver is out of control but perhaps just a few to get things moving.

I'll bet an add on could be designed to make website popup boxes, photos, text and interactive elements as simple as falling off a truck

My point is that all these things are possible in EasyWeb without expensive add-ons or third party software.

The iWeb forum is full of questions on how to create these features and many users were prepared to take the extra time and effort to learn how to implement them. They are a lot simpler to create in EasyWeb!

I'm sure that, once EasyWeb is released, developers will be falling over each other trying to sell you widgets for this, that and the next thing. Most of them you will probably only use once.

The only one you really need is the HTML Snippet - all the rest are just taking up space in the sidebar.

We all had to learn how to use the HTML Snippet in iWeb to go beyond the beginner stage. The EasyWeb version is a lot further advanced and easier to understand and use.

Using the simple instructions that are available on the internet, a huge number of projects are possible for the average user to create in EasyWeb. All you need to be able to do is copy and paste. EasyWeb even creates the URLs for you!

It's interesting that I never learned anything about snippets when I used Iweb. I have never used the snippet feature in Iweb. I always used MX and blindly made my way through. With a little research I was always able to do anything I could dream of. Iweb was always new journal and photo pages.

Perhaps that's 'THE' issue. I never used snippets in Iweb and it's an important part of Easyweb.

When an application has something - like a slideshow for example - built in it's not so easy to modify it to suit your own purpose. The iWeb slideshow is a case in point and was not one of its finest features. A huge number of users didn't want to use it because it didn't have the features they wanted and it also made the website scream, "Made by some drag and drop dummy with iWeb".

While some users actually boast about the fact that they don't know anything about code it's their loss because a little learning can go a long way.

Most of the problems arising from the use of apps like EasyWeb come from the fact that some users don't take the time to acquaint themselves with the basic concepts of layout, design and publishing. I saw a lot of problems in iWeb being compounded due to the misuse of terminology - often by those self professed experts who should have known better.

OK, you can built a website using drag and drop with no knowledge of just about anything but you will build a lot better one if you take the trouble to learn the basics.

The snippets feature is just as important in iWeb as it is in EasyWeb. EasyWeb lets you do basically everything iWeb let you do WITHOUT snippets. In addition, the snippets feature in EasyWeb is much more powerful than iWeb's. Roddy's examples would need HTML snippets in iWeb as well.

Please tell me what it is iWeb was able to do that you would like to do in EasyWeb.

Forget Iweb. Easyweb is the future. Time to stop comparing them.

Don't match Iweb, go beyond it adding what couldn't be done. I see that you are working on that now but it seems that most of the added features are 'behind the scenes' and doesn't reflect in the basic webpage format. The basic webpage still does less than Iweb although I know it will change with updates.

Rather than having Easyweb attempt to match Iweb with features I'd like to see Easyweb add features that will enable you to do more and different things that Iweb could never do. Iweb was a great application that just stopped being developed. Iweb's interface was very intuitive and Easyweb has the same intuitive design to it. It seems appropriate that Easyweb would take off where Iweb stopped or perhaps would have gone had it continued to be updated.

Below is a list of things I'd like to see Easyweb do.

* Easily add a banner slideshow to a page. (any size I wish)
* Buttons with a few basic behaviors on mouse over or click (open widow with photo or text with link option., more info,etc.)
* Drop Down menus
* Change non web fonts to image.
* Blog

I'm not in my 20's so I'm not interested in 'social media stuff'. Never had a Facebook account as it's just more to stay on top of. For the most part,, I'd like to be able to make a page more dynamic with more interactive abilities. Like in Iweb, Easyweb's pages are pretty static. More interaction ability would be nice when the mouse is moved around.

I was a Director of Photography for 25 years photographing motion pictures. In motion pictures the goal is to keep things moving. If the image was static too long people lost interest. For me, web design and human interaction is the same.

I guess I should spend a couple of days learning the concept of snippets and how to use them correctly. At the moment I don't know much. ,,,,,,, but then, I don't want to know snippets too deeply. The whole snippet feature seems like nothing more than a garbage can you throw things in to allow you to do things the programers didn't add. I can understand it's usefulness in some cases but it seems that it's a catch-all feature to fix all the shortcomings in the application itself. A sort of 'if it can't be done fix it with a snippet'.

Easyweb should be above resorting to that. I think it can be. It's very nice web design app. that's in it's infancy.
