redirect is not working ( if I am doing it right!)

I tried a blank page in first position with a redirect to page two to eliminate the extra navigation to get to the information I am providing but it does not seem to work. The problem arose when I realized that the index.html page was not showing up in google search results!
I redirected the spyboy4u.com/index.html page on the second page of the site, but it is not working. The almost blank page still comes up when you go to my site spyboy4u.com

Either link I follow gives me that page. One ends in .com, the other ends in .com/index.html. I do not get an almost blank page.
I will say that it does not surprise me that the main page does not show up much. You have a H! heading, followed by a H2 heading, but no content to go with the headings. Think of H1 as the title to an article. If the rest of the article is not there, there is no reason to send a user there. Your main page also contains a lot of images. My opinion is that the image names should be changed, and it looks like you are not taking advantage of the 'alt tag', which will land you in front of more eyes.
The image of the sign for Preservation Hall is named- pressign3@2x. The @2x is not needed anymore in EW. My opinion is the name should be something like- preservation-hall-sign-new-orleans.jpg, and the alt should be something like- An image of the Preservation Hall sign hanging outside the iconic music hall in New Orleans.
In my opinion, naming and doing correct alt tags will get you more recognition.
In my opinion, fleshing out the H2, and changing it to follow the H1 (I use Roddy's widgets as H tags and content are kept together) will get you even more.
I think in terms of pieces. Google describes their search as taking into account hundreds, if not thousands of things into account. In my opinion, gleaned through low level testing, is that when looking at an image, there are several factors that change ranking. An image with a fleshed out name will rank higher than one with a simple name that doesn't say what the image is. The image with the full alt tag will rank higher than the image without an alt tag. My opinion is alt tags are very important, and that comes from what I have seen, and from reading what Google wants and seeing the direction they are going. An alt tag is important because it falls into 'disability tools for the impaired', and getting that right will get you better rank. I write my alt tags to describe the image through a speaker program for the visually impaired, and that is the main purpose for them.
My opinion for that page, is to cast as wide a net as possible. If the content is good you will get better rank and more traffic from it. If the images are named descriptively and alt tags are done well, you will get more traffic when people do image, or even text searches for that subject.
Each little bit of info we can add to our pages will give a bump to rank.
Google is in the search business. They think of every search as being a customer. The more relevant the results they can serve (due to our hard work to create relevance) the happier their customers, and the better we rank.

I changes the first page back to one that had links to navigate to the second page. I will do a better alt text if I get stuck going this way. Thanks for the thoughts. What I wanted was a first page index.html that immediately redirects to page two so users can get to who, when, and where, in a 3 touch or click path. I guess maybe the thing to do is duplicate page two rename and move to first page.

If I may ask; what page is page 2?
How are you doing the redirect, through EW or using code?

Sorry just noticed this reply. Page two is where a user can first choose whether to find info. By Club, by Day, by Artist. I used the redirect thru EW. Now a user must click through the first page to get to info. Google does not show the index.html page in their search result listings. This is only a problem when a user goes directly to spyboy4u.com not from a search result. Don't see how I could be screwing up redirect but who knows!
