EverWeb 1.9.5 Update - An Apology to Anyone Who Felt Misled By The Update

User: Paul-RAGESW 8 years ago
To all our customers and users,

I wanted to put an apology here for our EverWeb Standalone users who downloaded EverWeb 1.9.5 when it was passed their update and support plan.

Firstly, we do not require any future payments to use EverWeb after your initial purchase. You can use EverWeb and all updates for one year with no further payments.

If anyone upgraded their version of EverWeb and missed the message about it not being a free update, I do apologize for that. It is certainly not our intention to mislead customers. Here are the download links for EverWeb 1.9 if you updated to 1.9.5 but are not yet ready to renew;

EverWeb 1.9 for Mac OS X 10.7+
EverWeb 1.9 for Mac OS X 10.6

Again, I am truly sorry for this and we will make it more clear in the future. The next version will include additional notices if your upgrade plan has expired. The situation was completely my fault and I will make sure in the future these issues don't happen again.

Thank you for all of your continued support!

Just a reminder that your EverWeb Standalone license entitles you to EverWeb plus one year of upgrades and support. You can use your purchased version of EverWeb without ever paying again.

I welcome any feedback here, as always.

Thank you,

I've paid because I wasn't allowed to upload my client's important site updates and despite having received payment confirmation, I'm still getting the message saying that I cannot make uploads because I haven't paid. So, I've paid when I didn't have to AND I'm still prevented from uploading to my client's site. Really frustrating and really disappointing.

Out of pocket and unable to do my work.

Hi Neil,

I responded to your email just now.

In the email you got right after you purchased, it told you to log out/in (or quit and relaunch EverWeb).

Please make sure you do that.

Also, you can always download the earlier version as indicated in the message you got while publishing.

You are never stuck when using EverWeb. You are always able to publish your website.

HI Neil,

Did you read my response?

Just quit and relaunch EverWeb and it will work.

Hi Paul. I am a standalone user and one day away from the expiration of my first year subscription and I'm trying to decide whether I want to pay for another year. It's too late for mee at this point but I'd still like to ask, What upgrades and/or improvements do you foresee in the coming year?
User: Paul-RAGESW 8 years ago
Hi Dale,

We've got lots of new features planned. I don't have any specifics to discuss though. Software goals change so much because of unexpected issues, operating system updates, new website trends etc..

We can't make promises at this time because of the unforeseen issues that may prevent us from delivering them and disappointing our customers.

I can assure you though that we are working very, very hard to continually improve EverWeb and provide the best value for your purchase.

I don't have this issue. Maybe the simplest solution is to send an email 1-2 months before service expires to remind that service is expiring?

Apology accepted, but I hope that some important lessons were taken from this incident. I probably would have upgraded anyway, but suddenly not being able to update my site did not leave me with a good feeling. You have an excellent product that is perfect for what many of us need and I would like for you to be around for a long time.
