Viewing ipad and iphone display error

ipad and iphone display error

User: Joel D. 8 years ago
I have built a website backstage circus and the right hand side displays incorrectly. The right hand side of the background doesn't display which makes the website off balance.

Can anybody advise how I can correct this.

Many thanks.

Joel.

You you correct the link to the page? The existing one opens the forum login.

Hi thanks Jim for taking the time to look. It is only on the ipad and iphone where the error seems to sit.
I have no idea why! Mind you I havn't made mobile friendly websites yet however I don't think this error should still happen?

Thank you too Roddy I will update that link.

Has anybody got any suggestions regarding the page layout?

The navigation container extends beyond the page content width and pushed the whole thing to the left on touch devices. It should not overhang onto the yellow background.

Hi Roddy, sorry to be a pain but i'm struggling to get to grips with what you are saying. How can I rectify this?

Thanks again,

Joel.

When you look at your project in EW, click on the Navigation. On the left side of page it looks to extend all the way to the left of page. Adjust it down so it fits in the red and doesn't extend into the yellow background. If you don't see anything right away, try Edit- Select All.

Make sure you have "Show Layout: turned on from the Window drop down menu so that you can see the content area boundaries and either increase the content width width or reduce the navigation.

Thank you Roddy. It's bamboozling because everything is showing as in the boundaries.

I am running in to the same issue with masonicblue.com I am now adjusting the width of the mobile layout as I cant seem to figure out what is wrong. I feel like this is just a bandaid... I don't see anything over hanging... any ideas are appreciated!

I looked at your site on my old iphone 4, the layout was fine on it.
On my android device, the layout was crowded, words cut off and link at bottom slit over 2 lines.
On desktop site I noticed that the Photo Gallery button does not work like the others, you cannot click the words.
On a phone I find the home page to be too small, like the big home was shrunk and some things moved. Whatever you figure out about the layout, you may want to think about making the mobile site more finger friendly.

Here's some info about page content widths when designing for various devices.

Unless you are creating a responsive design, content width is a compromise and around 375px seems to be it.
