Global change or match in the navigation menu.

User: dan y 10 years ago
The navigation menu to start off. Perhaps I just don't know how to do it but every page with navigation must be individually set up. Every page needs the font, size, color, rollover, visited, etc. matched in the navigation menu. Even the position needs to be manually matched.

Is there a way to do a global change so they all look the same or is that a request for a future feature.

My humble and novice way to do this was to copy and paste a button or buttons/words once the desired effect was achieved. Im sure there is a better way, i just thought I would chime in....for what its worth...may not be much ;)

Style the whole navigation on one page and then copy the Widget and paste it to all the other pages.

I had a senior moment earlier today. I've used that technique many times for matching. It's a method that works well.

This morning I couldn't get the paste button to highlight. I'd copy and when I'd go to the paste page, 'paste wan't highlighted. I had forgotten that I needed to click on the page first to activate it. It's one of those dumb things I just forgot to do so I lost the ability to cut-n-paste. I wasn't sure why it stopped working. Duh.

Never tried that technique with the navigation menu.

Now where's that 'Easyweb for Dummies' book.

When you say "style" are you meaning entering code into the header ... footer?
When you say "widget" creating the navigation creates a widget you can then copy page to page?

WOW, this was the first time EVER that I was "kind of" doing it the right way...HA HA! Usually Im 10 steps behind with this stuff trying to catch up.

It's actually a better idea to start off your site by creating a page with the header, navigation and footer but no content. Then duplicate this page very time you need a new one.

The default navigation is a widget. By style I mean set your font, colors etc. No code required unless you are going to use a Widget for the headings inside the header.

Roddy a viddy of you creating a simple page with the header, navigation and footer but no content. Then duplicating to create site pages would be really useful to alot of us easyweb newbies...

Shaun,

You can design a website as you usually do and then right click on the web page in the left list and select 'Duplicate'.
