Viewing Design Canvas Scroll Bar Disappears!

Design Canvas Scroll Bar Disappears!

User: David R. 10 years ago
I am building a web site with images. I have a page with a number of images placed, and the (vertical) scroll bar on the design canvas has disappeared! I am unable to scroll down to see the images at the bottom of the page. If I run the preview option, Safari opens with the page and scroll bars so I can see everything.

I can't figure out what I am doing to make the EverWeb scroll bar disappear. It has something to do with selecting the "Allow Free Dragging", I think - but I can't figure out what causes this to happen.

What causes this behavior? When this happens, I can't continue to construct my page.

If I am not mistaken, the Allow Free Dragging allows you to move items into and out of the header/footer.
Try this, put a simple Text Box on the page, stretch it and see if the scroll bar appears. move it below the Footer and see if anything disappeared down there. I prefer to hold Command button to move things in and out of header/footer

Put an empty text box on the page and drag it downwards to lengthen the content area.

Perhaps you allowed an object to free drag and dragged it down out of the content area?

Roddy:

I think you are correct. I have been removing the "Made with EverWeb" text at the bottom of the page and couldn't see where the footer was. Leaving that text in place lets me avoid it when inserting images. Thanks!

Another question: How can I see the boundaries of the header and footers on the design canvas? They appear to be invisible - that is why I was dragging images into the footer.

From the Window dropdown menu choose Show Layout or do shift + command + L

Thanks very much - that helps me understand where the images are going.

I have been disappointed in the documentation for EverWeb - the manual doesn't even discuss a lot of these issues, and the videos don't seem to be comprehensive either.
