Viewing Image Titles

Image Titles

User: David R. 10 years ago
I am creating a Web Site for my wife's art business. We have scanned in copies of her art and I want to create a page with some samples of her work. Each image has (of course) a file name. I can't find any way to automatically show the image filename on the web page. What I have been doing is: (1) drag and position the image on the design canvas; (2) creat a text box with the image name; (3) drag the text box to below the appropriate image.

Is this the only way to do this? Is there some way to "link" the image and the title so that they can be moved or repositioned at the same time? Right now, if I move the image, I have to also reposition the text box with the title information.

Hi David,

There are two things you can do.

1. You can use the Image Gallery Widget from the Widgets section in the top right hand corner of the EverWeb window. Add that to your page and then drag and drop your images onto there. Your image file names should be automatically displayed in the Caption field.

2. You can select both the image and the caption and go to the Arrange menu at the top of your screen and select 'Group'. Now the caption and the image will move as one object.

Thanks for the fast response. I will try this. Where is the documentation for the Image Gallery Widget? It is not mentioned in the manual.

Have you looked at the instructional videos?
See the one about the Image Gallery.

I found the video tutorial. However, the Image Gallery is not what I want - I don't want to create a slide show of the images. I want the images (in a fairly large size) to show on the web page. I might add this as an additional feature to the pages, but it is not what I want to do with the basic page. I guess I will have to continue to use the separate text boxes.

You can also check out these widgets. I use the Figure and Figure Link ones a lot and simply love them. They have many options to customize them.
Oh nevermind, answers while I was typing.
