Viewing Fixed Image

Fixed Image

I was recently ask by an EverWeb user if there was a way to create a fixed height, fixed position, full width image with the content scrolling up over it in a responsive page design using the Flex widgets for displaying product info.

The fixed height, full width image widget was used for this although it was a question of adding a “coverall” div to the Flex content widget to increase the content background to 100%.

An example can be see HERE. It adds an animated image and fade on scroll headings to add bit of pizazz.

Taking it one step further, THIS demo uses a new widget which does more or less the same thing but with a timed crossfade. The iteration count of the animation can be set to a fixed number or to infinite.

For those who emailed me, you can use these widgets on non responsive sites but it's better not to fix them. You'll see what I mean if you try it!

Here's a demo of a full width, fixed height banner/slideshow on a responsive page using the Flex widgets. In this case, the content slides up over the slider as the page is scrolled. This is achieved by fixing the position of the slider and using a new "Coverall" control in the Flex content widget which creates a 100% wide background for the content area.
