I got a really bizzare glitch which took hours to sort out. The mobile version of my home page duplicated and overwrote my desktop home page. Pretty sure I didn't do this accidentally, can't see how I possibly could have. I edited the page back to desktop format but all the redirect coding was up the creek. Eventually built a brand new desktop format home page from scratch, deleted the old one - now everything working again ------------------------------- http://www.tattooremoval.scot |

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing. How did you make the mobile site? As a separate project? Where were the files overridden? On your server? Can you be a bit more specific in what happened and I'll be happy to look into this issue. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I'm not sure precisely how or when it happened. I checked my site on my desktop computer and was confused to see the mobile version of the home page - other pages on the site were working normally. The mobile site and desktop site are integrated together using the EW Mobile Settings controls and uses all your automatic redirect functions. I have 2 home pages. One was called "Welcome" and the other "Mobile Welcome". On opening EW I could see that "Welcome" was now a direct copy of "Mobile Welcome" in all respects other than name. To try to fix this, I then edited "Welcome" back to desktop specification by selecting desktop master page and making other changes. However, mobile redirect was now broken. Under mobile settings I would select to point to "Mobile Welcome" for mobile devices, but it would keep reverting back to "Welcome" despite relogs and reboots and "Publish Entire Site". Now my desktop version was displaying correctly, but mobiles were showing the desktop version! I had recently inserted a bit of code from www.jotform.com into my home pages and I thought this was causing the glitch, so deleted it from both, but made no difference. I'm pretty sure that was coincidental. So I deleted "Welcome", published so there was a new index.html file, then went back to EW and made a brand new desktop home page from scratch. When I tried to make another page called "Welcome" I was seeing fields already filled in as per the previously deleted page so I deleted again and named my new desktop homepage "Home". Now the mobile redirect works correctly, but was a a frustrating process to go through and my site was a bit mangled for a few hours. ------------------------------- http://www.tattooremoval.scot |
