The upgrade to the widget API is working as planned and is much appreciated!

@Roddy,
the 'bounce' widgets used in 1.9.5 don't work anymore on ipad. The animation is gone. After the planned seconds, the item pops up.

CSS animations are not recommended for use on touch devices and this is an iOS problem rather than an EverWeb one.

I must admit the my documentation of this in the Image FX section is non existent and sketchy in the Animation section.

I must have become aware of the fact that a lot of people don't know too much about CSS3 animations by the time I created the Scroll FX widgets. There are links to find out about creating the iPad/Tablet version of the page and two demos - one showing the animation on a computer and the other showing how it will appear on touch devices.

I still don't think enough EverWeb users appreciate how important it is to make a version of the site or tablet devices as well as for smart phones. This can be easily achieved using the Touch widgets or, for the more adventurous, by creating responsive pages using the Flex widgets.

With the introduction of the iPad Pro and - dare I mention - the various Windows touch screen laptops that have been around for a while, creating a website for touch devices is now more of a priority than the full site versions. It is up to individual site owners to realise this and for those designing professionally to educate their clients.

The new version of EW 1.9.5 1450 fixed the problem with the 'text to image'.

@Roddy
I just want to let you know that the widgets worked perfect on earlier versions of EW.
1.8.2: Widgets 'bounce in down' & 'slide in up' works perfect on desktop & all mobile devices Android and iPad, iPhone and browsers Safari, Chrome, Firefox.
1.9: still on desktop but on mobile devices not anymore.

I wonder if this is an EverWeb problem or an iOS one. Are you using the latest version of iOS on your mobile device?

iPad and iPhone have both the latest version 9.1

Yes, that's what I was referring to. Its possible it could be caused by the new version of iOS rather than EverWeb.

Entire site uploaded in EW 1.8.2, devices 9.1: it's ok
Entire site uploaded in EW 1.9.5, devices 9.1: it's not ok

That's a mystery.

If you look at this TEST of the Scroll FX widgets to demonstrate to an irrate user that they do "work as advertised", the last item uses bounce in down animation and works OK in the iOS Simulator.

The TEST is made in 1.9. The last item is 'the end' and seems to work good.
But in this DEMO, made in 1.9.5, the bounce in down doesn't work anymore (on iPad and iPhone).

If you don't have the Scroll FX widgets pack, email me and I will send you the Scroll FX Image widget to try.

Unfortunately, the Scroll FX Image widget didn't solved the problem. Check the DEMO page.
Of course, on an iPad or iPhone. Desktop is ok.

The good news is, they both work perfect with Chrome on the mobile devices! So, it's a Safari problem?

All the more reason to create a version of the website specifically for tablets - or at least take the mobile first approach with the full site.

I think Apple users tend to forget that there are a large number of laptops/computers running windows the have touch screens. The introduction of the iPad Pro should persaude Apple users to change their approach to web design.

When using a fixed width editor like EverWeb, start with the smart phone site with a width of about 370px, then create the tablet site and, if you really think it's necessary create a full site. Most small businesses are just wasting time and money creating full sites nowadays. The Touch widgets allow you to quickly create sites this way and the TriSIte demo explains the method..

Don't you think EW should care of this? Where is the 'building responsive sites' part of it?
