Hover Expand Widget - a little anomaly?

I used it at the top right of my home page - here: http://jamescraigphotography.com When it is hovered over, and the image expands – perfectly by the way – the words "Hover Expand Widget" appear at the top of the page on the left. No text is entered in the dialog box. Last edit 10 years ago |

In the top left where you see the text, should be a transparent image. http://jamescraigphotography.com/home-page/ew_css/transparent.png It's missing, so the alt text is displayed. |

| Sorry, I'm confused by the answer. I have no alt text entered, and the name of the widget doesn't appear in the alt text box. The link to a transparent png doesn't seem lead anywhere. Must I put in text or something? | |

No, it doesn't lead anywhere for the image is missing. But rest assured, it's not your fault. The creator of the widget has the same problem : http://everwebcodebox.com/widgetbox/tooltips-links/hover-expand.html But you cannot see it, because the page background is black :

| Thanks very much for explaining it. I'll just leave it this time and look for an alternative widget next time. Certainly not worth angsting over. I've used it a couple of times before and never noticed it. | |

There's a checkbox which needs to be checked if the page is in a directory. If you you used the widget on the Home page of your site it would normally NOT be in a directory so the box should not be checked. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | The home page IS a directory because it works as a blog. I interpreted the "in a directory" to exclude that. As soon as I get home I'll try checking the box and see what happens – maybe I overthought that one – it does simply say "Directory" next to the box after all. Thank you! ………… and when I get a couple of hours spare time I want to browse all those cool widgets that have been coming out.

This widget uses a small transparent image as a hack to allow the visitor to close the large image on touch devices. The image is inserted into the ew_CSS folder so the file path changes when the widget is inserted in a page of a directory. It's not a good idea to use a widget like this on a full site when you don't have a separate version of the site for tablet users. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Well, the check box worked – so it was the operator all along again. Oops. And I haven't worked up a tablet version as yet, but the widget works pretty good on this one on tablets, with a tap to zoom and tap off the image to get rid of it. I just use it occasionally to announce open houses for fellow artists at the top of my postings. Thanks again for the help
