Viewing Gallery/Slideshow

Gallery/Slideshow

User: Roddy 8 years ago
This is a new pack of widgets to create more professional looking slideshows and galleries.

The widgets include two image grid lightbox galleries, a gallery with fullscreen option, a super slider, various autoplay banners and sliders with more styling options and an animated responsive image stack for product or keynote display.

A new widget has been added to this pack for creating slides which contain an image, alt text, HTML heading and a text description. The widget can be seen in action HERE.

The sliders widget pack has been updated with a new widget for creating a Lazy Loading slideshow.
In general, a web page should contain no more than 24 standard images or 12 retina ones. For those who want to defy reason, this slideshow may fit the bill.

I just switched over to EverWeb and am in the process of building new sites for my wife and I ( http://kristinabellditullo.com and http://michaelditullo.com respectively). I'm really liking EverWeb with the exception that I am a bit disappointed in the actual image gallery pop up window and the lack of options.

Roddy, I've been reading your responses on these forums and of course you are super helpful. Just wondering if any other users have purchased and installed any of your widgets? Understandably I'm a little leery to have just purchased EverWeb only to find I need to purchase widgets from a third party that is not EverWeb to get a professional looking image gallery.

Any other users purchase any of these? Once purchased, hod do I add them to my widget option list?

The EverWeb default slideshow and image gallery widgets are very versatile with a lot of options. There are so many different types of image banner/slideshow, carousels and image galleries to choose from that it's impossible to cater for everyone's reuirements in a couple of widgets.

There are now around 50 widgets for creating image slideshows and users are still requesting more! The original slideshow widget pack contains fourteen widgets and has been downloaded by hundreds of users.

The new sliders pack incorporates a lot of the items requested by EverWeb users and will soon be supplemented by some widgets to create iWeb style image and video albums.

The fact that the developers had the foresight to create an excellent widget API means that EverWeb users can now choose from around 500 widgets at a minimal cost compared with the third party products available for other drag and drop style website editors. As EverWeb's popularity continues to grow, I expect more third party developers will find it worthwhile to develop products for the app.

iWeb at its peak only managed to provide users with nine widgets. I have seen iWeb users struggle for days just to implement one slideshow or media player. Thanks to EverWeb's ever improving widget API, users can install fairly complicated items in minutes rather than hours or days.

Widgets are installed by double clicking them with the EverWeb window closed. When the Widgets section is reopened, you will see the new widget(s) beneath the default ones. The widgets are in the Application Support folder so they don't need to be reinstalled when EverWeb is updated.

Hey Roddy, do you have any gallery widgets that produce results like this:

super simple slider with "i" button to get caption:
http://www.caycezavaglia.com/embroideries/

a couple of very simple ones:

http://www.sethkoen.com/30sinthe40s2/

I've been working on my wife's site and she isn't happy with the amount of control in the stock EverWeb gallery:
http://www.kristinabellditullo.com/work/solitary-night-reflections.html

Her primary issue is when you click the zoomed in version of an image. More specifically:
- buttons look like super old apple OS
- captions appear in a serried font, want to match font to rest of site
- enlarged image is still too small

I've given up on using galleries at all on my site and have opted for more of a scroll style experience, but she wants to be able to see everything at a glance and then zoom in. Any help appreciated :-)

I do have a bunch of gallery and album widgets waiting to be finished when I get time.

The last one you mentioned uses Shadowbox as does THIS widget.

Here's a couple of rough demos for ...

A responsive lightbox with captions.

This requires the thumbnails to be cropped to the required aspect ratios and could only hold a maximum of twelve images.

Variable sized collage grid with hyperlinks.

The row height can be adjusted as can the image spacing. The footer would be built in to the widget since a standard footer wouldn't work with a responsive item for obvious reasons. The images can have slide up captions if required as shown and can be created as hyperlinks to a page with a full size image - or whatever.

Thanks Roddy. I think this one might work well for her: http://everwebcodebox.com/widgetbox/slideshow/lightbox-gallery.html

I see the font type and color can be changed. Can the background color be changed behind the thumbnails or does it have to be black?
User: Roddy 7 years ago
The background is created using a shape so can be any color - or none.

Hi Roddy, when will the above mentioned (Strip Gallery, Responsive Collage, Responsive Lightbox...) be available for purchase?
These are mighty close to what I requested a few weeks ago.

I still have a few widgets to add to this pack before releasing it and was contemplating leaving it until EverWeb V2 is available - whenever that may be.
