Viewing Grid!

Grid!

What I really miss is a Grid feature. I am measuring with the text-tool window!
Is it buried somewhere I can't find it?

This is a great webdesigner, but it needs a grid option!

Great idea...
I use a line/bar made in the shapes pop up to align things now and then as a work around.

This brings me to an even better idea. I think I'll make a page-sized image of a grid (screenshot from a photoshop grid), and then place this image as a temporary page-background.. Then we have a grid!

If it works well I will upload the grid or post a link to it.

Yeah that would work.. But it would be nice to have one that was adjustable like PS and be able to adjust opacity!

I just tried it, took a screenshot of a grid in PS and precisely placed it in a new 1000 points wide sized document (same size as my webpage), saved it and loaded it in Everweb as a background. It works REALLY well! Of course we need to have this in Everweb, but this workaround saves alot of guesswork. :)

A detailed grid would be very helpful.

Grids are kind of a backward step to the pre CSS days when page layouts used tables. Modern web design uses HTML5 containers to group related items and media queries to control their relative position when viewed on different devices and at different browser widths.

Grouping related items makes for better design both in terms of visual clarity and web page load time efficiency. Now that three versions of a website are obligatory, using containers makes creating these far quicker.

Many modern website designs are based on responsive column/grid layouts but these are not required to be seen by the designer or the visitor since the objects are placed in relation to their position in the HTML doc and according the rules set in the stylesheet.
