FTP Publishing

I am finding it impossible to publish via FTP direct from Everweb. There's a fairly straightforward work-around which is to publish to folder, then upload using an FTP client, but why should I have to? Your SEO Tool for iWeb product for example, gives a clear indication of what it's doing. Everweb tells me it's publishing in the background and will tell me when it's finished. It never tells me it's finished, i'm not at all sure that it's ever started, it produces no error messages, and most importantly my web page remains unchanged. Please fix this, I don't believe it's a complicated thing to sort out. ------------------------------- http://www.tattooremoval.scot |

Hi Aaron, While publishing if you go to File-Edit Publishing Settings you will see the progress of uploading. If you continue to have problems, please contact support and we can help you work through it. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| I have the same problem. When clicking on File - Edit Publishing Settings, i see no progress of uploading, i see nothing. There are also no errors. How much time is needed to upload a website of 9 pages? | |

Usually only a few seconds. Can you describe what you did exactly? Did you press the Publish button in the toolbar and see any error messages? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| I filled in the form and then pushed the buttoning the toolbar. There were no errors. It showed me a pop up with said ever web is publishing on the background and will give you a message when ready. But i don't know if it is working. I can't see any progress. So nou i have doubts if i'm doing it right. | |

| Still nothing. Have contacted my host provider and my settings are allright. He asdvised me to change the first page in index.html, but i can't give that name to the page. Making the website is really easy and i love it. But publishing is a problem :-( | |

You don't need to call the first page index.html, don't worry about that. So you press the Publish button in the toolbar and it says it publishes? If you go to File menu at the top of your screen and then go to Edit Publishing Settings you don't see any progress there? Can you send a screenshot of your FTP settings to customer support? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| I see publishing and then the names of the pages. My webserver told me i need to name the first page index.html, but i can't change the .xml to html right? I think that's the problem for not publishing | |

Your first (home) page file name is "index.html". No matter what you call it in the left column of EverWeb, the application changes it to "index" when it publishes. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I think that's the problem for not publishing So that means it is publishing, unless I am misunderstanding you. Please watch the progress bar and make sure it keeps moving. Perhaps you have a really large file such as a video that is taking a while to publish? Do not rename any .xml files. Where are you seeing these .xml files? You don't need to rename anything to index.html, please do not do that. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
