Trouble with google and mobile site

I am confused. I built www.googlelandusa.com as a desktop, 800px wide, and as a mobile, 480px wide. I purposely did not include any image galleries on the mobile version. However, google is telling me that the gallery page is not optimized for mobile. When you visit my site on a mobile browser you do not get fed any gallery pages at all. I figured EW would take care of what is mobile and what is not on the backend, as far as separating them for search engines. What would be the best/easiest way to get google to only see the mobile pages for mobile? Do I need to add the alternate and canonical codes? Google is telling me that the sitemap should differentiate between the two, but it does not appear to do so. Or is it a problem that some desktop pages are not included in my mobile pages? Which is done on purpose |

You have no trouble with Google. Your gallery page has no redirect to a mobile page. The other pages have. That's it. So logic will tell you, that if your visitor arrive on your Gallery page with a mobile device they will see the desktop page since there's no redirect. When they click a link to the other pages, they are redirected to the mobile pages. In the event that they arrive on a mobile page, they will never see the Gallery page since there's no link. And why would you deprive your visitor of a gallery? Out of consideration of their bandwith and their monthly dataplan? Well, what they save on your page, they will spend on watching YouTube videos. | BTW, your mobile pages are 400 pixels wide, not 480. | |
