Does it take a while for Google to update website info? The reason I ask, and I am not sure if this is a bug or not, is I had my temporary, one page site up and on the page description I wrote COMING SOON and that our site was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. This information appeared in google search as well as the top of the page when the site was displayed on the web. Well, this morning I uploaded the full site, which has a completely different page description on the home page but google still has the old, temporary description of my site when I search for it. Also, when I tried to post the address on our facebook page, it appeared as the old site with the old description. Like I said, I am not sure if this is a bug or what but the info isn't updated and I have had the site active since 8 am today.

I think it usually takes some time. I wonder though, are we allowed to upload sites already? After all EasyWeb is still in Beta <shrugs>

It can take a few days to a few weeks for Google to update their listings depending on how popular your website.

And yes you can publish your website with EasyWeb.

I know I'm a bit late to comment on this subject, but Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is more my area of expertise. Google basically scans your website after it has detected a change. This can take between 2hrs - 28days. When it crawls your site, whatever information it finds is there version of current, so eventually the old info will disappear and the new info will overwrite. There is no guarantee you will still be in #1 spot, but the beauty of google is that no one really knows how it works, everything really is speculation and trial ... error along with a large dose of Patience.
Further, it's a good exercise to frequently delete your search history. The google browser knows what you generally look for and what sites you frequent, which in turn puts those choices to the top for you, but maybe not others. It can be sore to see your site drop, but it is accurate and then you know what to work for.
Lastly, if you retain the top spot, remember, someone somewhere will always work harder to knock you off. It's a constant job and a constant game.
Late, but I hope it helps.

I see we still don't have any way to upload a sitemap.xml to the EasyWeb server although we have been promised it along with an easy way to add the verification meta tag for those who are too frightened to paste it into the Header Code box.
